Laser Resurfacing

If you have a full schedule but still want to squeeze in some facial rejuvenation, Tayani Institute has a solution for you: laser skin resurfacing. Active FX is a fractional laser treatment that produces noticeable improvements to your skin with minimal downtime. You’ll be back to work and your other obligations in no time. Active FX treatments are available with our Mission Viejo / San Clemente cosmetic surgeon also serving San Clemente, Irvine, Laguna Hills, Big Bear, Arrowhead and beyond.

Is Laser Resurfacing Right for You?

You may be a suitable candidate for laser resurfacing if you have areas of dark pigmentation, fine lines, scars or wrinkles — or if you simply want to improve the tone and texture of your skin. Laser resurfacing is a great option if you want noticeable results without a lot of downtime. Maybe you have a busy lifestyle, or perhaps you cannot take off extended time from work to recover from a cosmetic procedure. If this is the case, laser resurfacing is right for you.

What Happens During a Laser Resurfacing Procedure?

During a laser resurfacing procedure, our plastic surgeon uses a hand piece to direct high-energy beams of laser light to your skin. The light penetrates the deep layers of your skin and stimulates the production of collagen, as well as resurfaces the top layer of skin, smoothing wrinkles, fine lines and other irregularities in your skin. The new collagen also has a plumping effect on your skin, giving your entire face a more youthful quality. The results of laser skin resurfacing are almost immediately apparent.

Recovering from a Laser Resurfacing Procedure

After your Active FX treatment, you may feel like you have a sunburn. Our plastic surgery team will give you instructions for gently washing and moisturizing your skin as it heals, as well as using antibiotic ointment and sunblock. You will notice that your skin looks pink, and it may start to flake off within two days of your treatment. You’ll be able to wear makeup about four to seven days following your treatment. Your skin should continue to improve in tone and texture about six months after your treatment.
