Facial signs of aging like wrinkles, folds and sagging, loose skin are unavoidable and can begin to appear as early as your late 20s or 30s. Fortunately, there’s a suitable solution for you at Tayani Institute: facelift surgery with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Facelift is not designed to stop the aging process, but rather to stave it off by reducing the signs of aging. Facelift can address a variety of cosmetic concerns and help your skin look smooth, taut and refreshed.
You may be a suitable candidate for facelift surgery if you have one or more of the following:
If you’re considering facelift, you should be in good health with realistic expectations of the surgery. We can go over what to expect from surgery during your initial consultation. You may find that other procedures such as brow lift or eyelid surgery in Mission Viejo may be appropriate as well.
Facelift is an outpatient procedure and takes several hours to complete. It is performed using anesthesia so you will sleep comfortably throughout the procedure.
Our plastic surgeon begins by making incisions in front of and behind your ear, sometimes extending into the scalp. The deep layers of your facial structure are then surgically “lifted,” the muscles are tightened and excess skin is removed or repositioned. Liposuction may be used to treat any fat deposits on the neck or jowls. Finally, our plastic surgeon closes the incisions with sutures and places surgical dressings.
Our plastic surgery team also offers upper and mid-face lift procedures. Learn more about those options here.
After surgery, your face will be sore, swollen and bruised. You should avoid straining, bending or lifting in the days immediately following your surgery. Also, it’s best to refrain from using certain medications (including aspirin) and smoking or being exposed to second-hand smoke. We will schedule several follow-up appointments to check your healing progress and clear you to return to work and your normal routine.
