
About Dr. Figueroa’s
Dr. Figueroa went to UC San Diego for undergraduate (majored in General Biology) graduated 2015 and Western University of Health Sciences for optometry school graduated 2024. She completed her rotations at a community health center on the central coast, VA hospital in Newington Connecticut, private practice serving underrepresented communities and lastly with Tayani institute. During her rotations and schooling, Dr. Figueroa trained in disease management, low vision, pediatrics as well as general optometry fitting glasses and contact lenses. She was a member of BSK Optometric Honors Society and graduated with honors from optometry school. She was also awarded a scholarship called the Dr. Hernandez Endowed scholarship for her involvement and service within the Hispanic community as a first generation college student.
Outside of work Dr. Figueroa spends her time with her two dogs, Buster and Bella, likes to play tennis, or take a pilates class with her friends.
