About Dr. Lukac
After a distinguished career spanning decades in the field of ophthalmology, Dr. Jan Lukac bid farewell to his esteemed colleagues, patients, and the Tayani Institute community as he entered a well-deserved retirement in summer of 2024. Throughout his career, Dr. Lukac exemplified unwavering dedication, expertise, and compassion in medical and surgical eye care.
Dr. Lukac’s journey began with a passion for healing and a commitment to advancing the frontiers of ophthalmic medicine. He received his medical degree at Komensky University Medical School. And further training at Stanford and Georgetown universities, where he completed his ophthalmology residency. Dr. Lukac spent extended years in private practice of ophthalmology in Orange County, CA, which included membership at UCI as a Clinical Assistant Professor, and as a member of USC Refractive Surgery Associates. He is a Diplomate and Fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology and many other medical societies.
In recognition of his exceptional contributions and leadership, Dr. Lukac has been honored with the prestigious title of Emeritus by the Tayani Institute. This title reflects not only his clinical acumen but also his role as a mentor and educator who has inspired countless colleagues and trainees over the years.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Lukac is known for his warmth and integrity, qualities that have endeared him to patients and colleagues alike. His retirement marks the end of an era, yet his legacy will undoubtedly endure through the countless lives he has touched and the standards of excellence he has set.
As Dr. Jan Lukac embarks on this new chapter of life, surrounded by the gratitude of those he has served, we extend our heartfelt wishes for a fulfilling retirement filled with relaxation, joy, and the opportunity to pursue new interests and passions.
